The service for long time storage 'BWDA' offers the following storage classes:

Name Max AVG. Access Time Storage Location # of copies physical separation comment
Class 1 <10 seconds disk only 1 na high available RAID6/E2EDI
Class 2 <10 minutes disk cache in front of tape 1 na disk buffer cache in front of tape large enough to hold a working set of the data to guarantee access times
Class 3 <10 hours tape only 2 2 locations regular archive storage comparable to azure, aws
Class 4 <10 hours tape only 2 2 locations super safe storage. targeting 20 nines. Second location with different technology
