[https://www.bareos.org/en/download.html Bareos ] is a universal open source backup system. Traditionally Bareos can use tape and disk storage to be defined as storage device (SD). Bareos offers a framework for the development of attachment of alternative [https://github.com/bareos/bareos/blob/master/README.storagebackend storage backends]. In particular  GLUSTERFS ans CEPH/Rados have been added to. We seek a candidate interested in open source development to implement a new storage backend for Bareos. The backend will be the HPSS tape management system that is in use at SCC for large scale archival and backup. The integration of Bareos and HPSS will allow SCC to efficiently use the installed environment of HPSS as well as to use the modern Bareos backup system.
