The directory on the HPSS servers where configuration files are kept is: /opt/hpa Changing the to this directory will trigger the automounter to mount the respective share from the central admin host (hpa.lsdf.kit.edu. If no process uses the mountpoint, the share is unmounted after 3 minutes.

Configuration on the HPA server (172.18.95.59)

  • the directory for the config files was created: /export/hpa
  • The file /etc/exports was modified:
      /export/hpa 172.18.95.0/22(rw,no_subtree_check,no_acl,no_root_squash)
  • nfs-utils was updated with yum
  • nfs was started with systemctl start nfs.service

Configuration on the HPSS nodes (NFS clients)

  • autofs was installed
   yum install autofs

alternative

   cd /tmp
wget ftp://mirror.switch.ch/pool/4/mirror/scientificlinux/6.7/x86_64/os/Packages/hesiod-3.1.0-19.el6.x86_64.rpm wget ftp://mirror.switch.ch/pool/4/mirror/scientificlinux/6.4/x86_64/os/Packages/autofs-5.0.5-73.el6.x86_64.rpm
rpm -ivh hesiod-3.1.0-19.el6.x86_64.rpm rpm -ivh autofs-5.0.5-73.el6.x86_64.rpm

following files are adapted:

/etc/auto.master

 /opt /etc/auto.hpa

/etc/auto.hpa

 hpa -fstype=nfs4 hpa.lsdf.kit.edu:/export/hpa

Starting autofs - /etc/init.d/autofs start

nfs clients can now automount /opt/hpa (uses the nfs v4 protocol)

 cd /opt/hpa
