UFTP is a protool for fast masive data transfers developed at Forschungszentrum Juelich [[1]]. HPSS is a high speed and large data storage system at SCC. In order for scientist to move data to HPSS several clients are available e.g. SFTP and GridFTP. HPC users would like the addition of an UFTP endpoint for datatransfers. This would allow them to exchange data to and from the HPSS system at SCC.
Linux and and some IP networking knowledge is required. Programming and scripting skills ar advanteous.
